What is a business Confirmation Statement?

At the end of June 2016, the Annual Return became known as a Confirmation Statement. This is essentially an information form, providing a yearly ‘snapshot’ of your company to Companies House. The Confirmation Statement should be submitted either online or through the post via form CS01, and it’s generally due shortly after your company’s registration date. Much of this information is placed on the Register of Companies, and is open to public view, although private residential addresses will not be disclosed. There may be some instances where changes need to be notified to Companies House mid-year – a change in director details, for example, or to amend the company’s registered address.
